Cheek (Implant) Augmentation

Conventionally, effective cheekbones have been measured as a sign of beauty as they augment to the portrayal of the face, thus developing facial synchronization. The cheek implants also provides an additional young-looking look to the face. Cheek augmentation procedures are frequently used for solving problems of a "concave" look of the face. Cheek implants augment the soft tissue and bony element of the face depending on the kind of cheek implant and how it is placed.
The first type of cheek implant is the malar implants that augment the bony cheek. The second types are the submalar implants that are used to augments the void area under the eyes. Adequate caution must be taken to pick the suitable implant features for the preferred aesthetic effect. A total health evaluation taking into account the face and neck assessment is done to establish the cause for the flat face. A thorough analysis of face that will include probing genetics, congenital irregularity, food habits, distress, diseases, aging is also required in determining the type of cheek implants that are appropriate for you. Facial asymmetries, their characteristics and your personal bony skeleton are also studied before reaching any conclusion.
The base of the cheek is the zygomatic bone that is a paired bone of the human skull.  It figures the component of the orbit of the eye socket and is generally called the cheekbone. It is located at the upper and lateral part of the face.  It structures the bump of the cheek, part of the lateral wall and floor of the orbit plus the parts of the temporal and infratemporal fossae.
The cheek implant is manufactured out of health grade plastic that has an approximately triangular shape. In the procedure the incisions are made via mouth and the implants are surgically inserted and located over the cheekbones. They are then sewed in place. After a week or so, the stitches are removed. The invasive cheek augmentation procedure is executed under local anesthesia. The process is done alone or in combination with removal of fat from the cheeks.
      Cheek Implant Placement

The cheek implant, blue in color, is positioned touching the cheekbone to enhance the description of the face of the patient. There are various kinds of cheek implant existing in the market, the oldest synthetic implants being silastic. This is the most broadly used implant in the world and has a minimal negative response from the body. The cheek augmentation procedure is done when the patient is under general anesthesia or local anesthesia. Cheek augmentation surgery generally longs for an hour. The procedure is performed in a committed surgical center or a hospital. In order to put the cheek implants, your surgeon will make an incision inside your upper lip or inside your lower eyelid. It is through this incision that your plastic surgeon will craft a pocket in where the implant will be placed. Via this procedure the cheek implant is placed without an externally noticeable scar.
After the cheek implant surgery, the patient is monitored for a few hours or a single day and then discharged to go back to home, where a rest of at least 2 days is recommended. A detailed instruction list must be followed and certain actions must be constrained accordingly. Typically, most bruising and inflammation subsides in a few days. However, if the cheek implants were positioned via an incision in your mouth, you’ll have limitations on the form of foods that you intake. Generally semi-solid or some liquids are recommended to balance your diet. The stitches located in the mouth are generally of the disappearing kind that will dissolve in five to fifteen   days. The non-dissolving sutures are then removed in follow-up visits.
There are certain risks involved with cheek implants. They can move out of position that might necessitate a supplementary surgery to realign the placement. You can also get infection in this type of surgery that will need some antibiotics to cure the infection. A temporary swelling might occur that can be cured.

Summary: Cheek augmentation procedure is a cosmetic procedure that aims towards highlighting the cheekbones on the face of men and women, making the looks better and younger. The cheek implants are made to rest on the top of their cheekbones with an incision in the upper mouth or an external incision near the eye, however the latter is not preferred due to a visible scar.
