Chemical Peel Before and AfterA chemical peel involves using of chemicals on the skin to remove layers of the dead skin or skin that is no longer fresh and vibrant. This not only rejuvenates the skin but also improves the appearance of the person as a whole. The chemical peel can be used for different parts of the body and need not be restricted to the face alone. You can use it for the arms, the legs the shoulders and also the abdomen area. Chemical peeling removes scars that are present on the skin and also most marks that are present on the skin surface. By making use of chemical peeling one can slow down the process of ageing considerably as this rejuvenates the skin, wrinkles that have just started forming are removed. Before a chemical peel one can see a number of marks on the skin which will not be present after a chemical peel. The "before and after changes of a chemical peel" are significant in the case of younger people. Minor lines around the mouth and those lines (frown lines) around the eyes are removed after a chemical peel. However, for older people, the changes of before and after a chemical peel are not noticeable because chemical peel does not remove heavy wrinkles. There are certain precautions that need to be followed after a chemical peel. One should avoid over exposure to sunlight. The skin after a chemical peel is raw and may damage easily. You may be also required to put on some lotions on the chemically peeled parts to protect them from damage and also to aid in recovery. The chemical peels that are used are of three types basically. They depend on the layer of the skin that is being treated, superficial chemical peels remove a layer of the skin only from the surface of the skin and the recovery time for this kind of peel is fast. For medium peels the recovery time is slower and for deep peels the time is significantly longer. After a medium or a deep chemical peel the patient may be sometimes required to wear bandages as there may be blisters on the skin which will eventually peel off after browning. The healing may take as long as two weeks for a medium or a deep chemical peeling. The possible complications that are a result of chemical peeling are evident only after a chemical peel. Complications like permanent color change may occur with or without scarring. The limitations of a chemical peel are chemical peels cannot remove loose skin or skin that is sagging. The same stands for scars that are quite deep. Chemical peeling of the face will not cause changes in the size of the pores of the skin. Summary: |
