Lip Enhancement Procedure

Full and sharply defined sensuous lips are a symbol of youth and liveliness. The aging procedure frequently results in over tapering of the red section of the upper lip together with a noticeable lengthening of the distance from the bottom of the nose to the border of lips. At times the lips form an inverted U shape giving a frowned look. These problems can be solved using different lip enhancement procedures.
A common lip enhancement procedure involves harvesting fat via liposuction and then re-injecting it into the lips on a regular footing. Instead, a big quantity can also be injected in one sitting. With these fat cells, fibroblasts are also motivated leading to a 50% permanent lip enhancement. Another kind of lip augmentation surgery is insertion of hollow tube of Gortex into the lips under local anesthesia. The procedure augments the vermilion border however, the volume of lips remain the same. The lip augmentation is permanent and chances of implant coming out are very rare. A touching up procedure can fix the implant if there is any problem. A relatively new technique of Laser Lip Enhancement is now used which gives rapid, reasonable and more lasting results. The recovery phase is short and the swelling and bruising takes around 5 – 15 days to recover from this lip enhancement treatment.
Collagen lip enhancement has been used since ages now. However, a skin test must be done before using collagen treatment as it is derived from animal sources and might cause allergy. Collagen is injected into the boundaries of the lips to refine the lip line and in the body of the lip to increment the redness of lip. Re-injections of collagen are needed every few months to maintain the collagen lip enhancement. Another latest lip enhancement procedure is the use of dermalogen. The giver skin is worked out for concentrated collagen, which is then injected into the lips. The advantage over traditional collagen lip enhancement is that it is non-allergenic and lasting.
Another method used is Restylene lip enhancement procedure. Restylene is prepared from hyaluronic acid, another basic material in the skin. The hyaluronic acid is cross-linked, thus when inserted into the skin, give a lasting result. However, certain complications such as lip swelling are reported with restylene lip enhancement.
Alloderm is giver tissue in which all of the feasible cells are removed. An  alloderm lip enhancement procedure is done under local anesthesia and the tissue is inserted into the body of the lip to enhance the lip volume and is placed into vermilion to refine the lip outline. The implant if combined with softform becomes lasting and if the lip cells grow into the implant, the resultant is a permanent lip enhancement. In Lip enhancement botox therapy, an injection of a clinical formulation of Botox is injected into area around the lips. It immobilizes the chosen muscles and enhances the lips by reducing wrinkles in the surrounding area.
In lip enhancement with hylaform injections, hylaform is injected in lips to define the lip shape and increase the lip volume. Hylaform is a tailored form of hyaluronan which is a naturally present substance found in human skin and all over the body.  It is derived from rooster's combs and stays up to 3 months in the lips. As hyaluronan is chemically, physically, and biologically alike in the body tissues of all species, no allergy testing is needed.

Summary:  Most commonly there have only been two choices for lip enhancement: the injections and surgery. Now a relatively new technique of Laser Lip Enhancement is used which gives rapid, reasonable and lasting results.
