MicrodermabrasionWhat is microdermabrasion? Microdermabrasion is a process of re-surfacing the skin to remove wrinkles, lines, stretch marks, sun damage, acne and superficial scarring. Microdermabrasion provides freshness and healthy appearance to the skin. Microdermabrasion was originally developed in Italy in mid 80s. Further it was exported to the United States in late 90s. Microdermabrasion restructures the skin from inside without any surgery or laser skin enhancing procedure. How does microdermabrasion work? Microdermabrasion is simply a skin refreshing technique. The device used is just like a fine sandblaster which is used to spray abrasive crystals across the skin. The crystals used are aluminum oxide or the other microdermabrasion crystal used is baking soda. These crystals are then pulled by the hand piece of the microdermabrasion machine and accumulated in the reservoir of the machine. The hand piece also have the vacuum to remove the dead skin which is on the outer surface of you skin. Our outer skin which is closest to the outer world is nothing but a set of dead skin which is then removed by the tool and the fresh new layer of cells takes place in place of that old skin. Patient feels a mild redness for few hours after the treatment. The time taken for the Microdermabrasion procedure is at least 15 to 45 minutes except the treatment performed on the neck and the upper chest area, for these areas it takes unto one hour or more. The patients does not feel any pain during Microdermabrasion process, therefore anesthesia is not required during this process. Microdermabrasion on dark skin is also effective. See Also: |
