Abdominoplasty procedure involves removal of excess fat and stretching of the skin over the abdomen so that the person who has undergone the operation has a slim look with no sagging skin and belly.  This is generally done along with liposuction to get the best results of undergoing such a plastic surgery.

As with any surgical procedure one always has to fear the scars.  The scars are both physiological and as well as physical.  The former type is not visible on the outside while the later one is visible. The first known Abdominoplasty was done way back in the year 1918.  The patient would have had to live with the scar for quite a long time if she had not died after the surgery.

Today with advancement in technology and new and modern methods of conducting surgery one can get any kind of operation done with the minimum scars visible on the outside and the ones that are visible too are likely to fade after a few years leaving no marks that one has got an operation done.

The same applies for when carrying out a tummy tuck operation. But a lot depends on the skill and the experience of the surgeon.  A skillful and experienced surgeon does not cut up even one millimeter more than that is required to be cut up.  He does an exact measurement and does body drawings to help in assisting in the operation.  He lets you know where exactly will he cut you up and where will the scars appear.  He also positions the scars in such a place that it is easily concealed by your under clothing like the panties that you wear or a bikini set that you would wear to the beach.

Even earlier tummy tuck scars can be build-up with tissue from your body to conceal the scars. The procedures that are being done as on date are called scar-less tummy tuck operations. If a scar is left one may feel that the scar is itching.  This is known as itching scar tissues after a tummy tuck.  One may experience this immediately after a tummy tuck operation. You could apply some smoothening cream to bring down the itching.  With time these scars will heal completely leaving no marks at all.

A full Abdominoplasty has a scaring from the right hip to the left hip.  Other scars are the replacement of the navel after stretching the skin.  This however is never visible.

A mini tummy tuck procedure leaves lesser scars.  Here the sutures are just above the pubic region and measure some 3 to 6 inches.  This is very easily concealed by your underwear.

After a liposuction is done, the puncture wounds are more often than left open.  This is so that the fluid may drain out after a day or so.  On the second day the doctor will either suture up the wound or in the case of small incisions he may put a medicated adhesive tape over the wound to assist in healing.

Summary
One can very well say that Abdominoplasty scars are an almost invisible phenomenon as on date with the latest technology available. Even if some does exist with time these would heal and become invisible.
